Data deletion
Last updated: 29 October 2026
Avokado replies to messages on behalf of businesses on Instagram, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram and in website chats — including the chat on avokado.chat. If you messaged a business that uses Avokado, you can ask us to delete your data at any time — free of charge.
How to request deletion
- Email hello@avokado.chat with the subject “Delete my data”.
- Tell us the platform (Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram or a website chat), your username or phone number there — for a website chat, the email you gave in the chat — and the name of the business you messaged.
- To make sure the request really comes from you, we may ask you to send a short message from the same account.
- We delete your data within 30 days — usually much sooner — and confirm by email.
What we delete
- your conversation history with the business, including transcripts of voice messages;
- your contact details and the request details the assistant collected (for example name, phone number, service of interest);
- appointment records and the log of the assistant’s actions in your conversation.
What we can’t delete for you
- Messages inside Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp or Telegram. These platforms store your chats themselves; you can delete them in the app.
- Copies in the business’s own tools — such as its calendar, CRM or the notifications its staff received. We forward your request to the business so it can delete them too.
- Data we must keep by law. If this applies, we tell you what and why.
Even without a request, message history is deleted automatically after 180 days. You can also contact the business directly — it can have your conversation erased.
